Prof. (Dr.) Kundan Singh, born on July 1, 1975, in Nainital, Uttarakhand, currently resides there and serves as the Dean of the School of Agriculture at Lingaya’s Vidyapeeth, Faridabad, Haryana. With over 26.5 years of experience, he has significantly advanced agricultural education and research in India. He holds a Ph.D. in Agroforestry from BAU, Jhansi, specializing in agroforestry systems, biomass consumption, and agricultural yield patterns. He earned his M.Sc. in Agroforestry from Kumaun University, Nainital.
Throughout his career, Dr. Singh has held significant academic and leadership roles in institutions such as Medi-Caps University, SAM Global University, NDUAT, Kumar Ganj and JNKVV, Jabalpur as well as prestigious institutions of ICAR research centres like NBPGR, Shillong, and Central Agroforestry Research Institute (CAFRI), Jhansi. He has actively contributed to curriculum development, teaching, and mentoring, guiding 14 M.Sc. students and currently co-supervising 5 Ph.D. candidates in agriculture and agroforestry. Dr. Singh has coordinated NAAC and ICAR accreditation processes, served as University Coordinator for UGC 12B, and contributed to strategic planning, admissions, examinations, and faculty development. He has actively engaged in workshops, training programs, and seminars to enhance agricultural education and research. He has organized webinars on emerging trends in agriculture and agroforestry and participated in symposia and training programs focusing on soil conservation and plant biodiversity.
An accomplished researcher, he has completed 07 projects funded by ICAR, the World Bank, and DBT, focusing on bioenergy, sustainable agriculture, and biodiversity conservation. His work includes 94 research papers, 10 reviews, 4 books, 8 student reference manual and 2 patents for innovative agricultural technologies. Recognized with awards like the Best Professional Award (2011), Young Scientist Award (2016) and Best Paper Presentation (2011, 2016), he is an active member of esteemed societies like Indian Science Congress Association, Indian Society of Extension Education, and Indian Journal of Agroforestry. He is also a Certified Trainer of Skill Council of India under the Job role of “Nursery Grower” and “Medicinal and Aromatic plant cultivar”
Dr. Singh’s dedication to academic excellence, research innovation, and fostering student success has established him as a visionary leader in agriculture and agroforestry education and research.
