Assistant Professor
Department of Electronics & Communication Engineering
Dr. Namrata Bansal holds a Ph.D. in the Department of Electrical Engineering at Rutgers University at New Brunswick, New Jersey, USA; focus of her studies was in solid state electronics and condensed matter physics. During her Ph.D., she was sponsored as a graduate assistant by Prof. Seongshik Oh; she was awarded an ‘alternate’ University and Bevier Fellowship. She completed her M. Sc. in Microelectronics from University of Texas at Dallas, USA, where she was funded as a research assistant by Prof. Bruce Gnade. She did her B. Tech in Electronics Engineering from Kurukshetra University, India, where she got interested in research and academia.
Dr. Bansal holds interest in thin-film growth (of nanometers thickness) of new materials, such as transition metal chalcogenides and topological insulators and electrically characterizing the grown thin films at low temperatures (~1-4 Kelvin). She has also worked in the semiconductor fabrication lab, making micron-sized devices. She has authored over 20 publications in peer-reviewed international reputed journals and presented her work at various national and international conferences.
