The Department of Psychology offers undergraduate, post-graduate & doctoral programs in the discipline with best in class infrastructural support for carrying out quality research and is equipped with state-of-the-art Psychology Laboratory with all tests & equipment, Smart Classrooms, Seminar Halls, Group Discussion Rooms, Departmental as well as Central Library. Through its programmes, the department aims to develop well-rounded individuals who are capable of competing in a global marketplace. The programs and courses are designed in such a way that they fulfil both the provisional as well as the enduring needs of the students so that they gain all prerequisites and the paramount skills to grab their dream job. The School of Humanities and Social Sciences believes in inculcating human values, professional & social ethics that make our students desirable as individuals and responsible citizens.
The students of the department of Psychology study mental processes, experiences and behaviour in different contexts. Knowledge of this discipline ensures strong foundations for a good career in psychology and its allied fields. It offers modules in the core areas of modern psychology, including cognitive, biological, developmental, social, cognitive, abnormal psychology etc.
Each semester’s syllabus has been thoughtfully designed to equip students to become Practicing Psychologists. The importance of using psychology to solve problems in real life is emphasized enough. Each course’s syllabus has been customized to include the most recent developments in the field. The central and departmental library includes a wide selection of reading materials. The department has a psychology lab with qualified instructors. For the benefit of staff and students, the department organizes conferences, seminars, refresher courses, workshops, etc.
The career prospects in the field of Psychology have grown leaps and bounds and eligible students get handsome salary packages ranging from 12 to 40 Lakhs per annum as Psychologists. Beyond this, they can earn through private practice while working as educational psychologist and counsellor at various NGOs. Psychiatrist, organizational/ industrial psychologist, and neuropsychologist are amongst the highest-paid jobs in India.

Welcome to the department of Psychology, Lingaya’s Vidyapeeth (a deemed to be university). The department of Psychology came into existence in 2020 but took no time to gain popularity with an array of its programs and courses related to behavioural sciences. The programs & courses offered by the department takes special care and focuses on specific factors that influence students’ learning viz. behavioural, developmental, cognitive and experimental perspectives. The programs are developed in such a way that our students get exposure to varied fields in Psychology so that they can take up a career of their choice. The seasoned faculty members help students gain insight on Clinical Psychology, Counselling Psychology, Industrial/Organizational Psychology, Health Psychology, Sports Psychology, Educational Psychology, and Community Counselling. The department keeps on organizing Special Counselling Sessions for Children with Special Needs and General Counselling Sessions for all students both in-house as well as a part of CSR activity.
Apart from the undergraduate, post-graduate, post-graduate diploma and doctoral programs, the department ensures that our students get exposure to international & conferences, Workshops, Seminars, Symposia etc. on a regular basis.
