The Department of Mechanical Engineering was established in the year 1998 and over the years has developed into a very vibrant teaching-learning unit. The Automobile wing was established in the year 2004. The department has got a team of highly qualified faculty members, many holding Ph.D’s from the elite institutes across the globe, to teach and train the best minds of this country. The pride of the department lies in the significant research activities, Memorandum of Understanding (MoUs) with various Industries, Research Organizations and leading Universities. The department is enabled with cutting edge research in a wide spectrum of technological areas along with modern facilities. The School of Engineering and Technology actively assists local industries in product design, complex-part manufacturing etc.
Apart from school-specific Undergraduate, Post-graduate & Doctoral programs, the school offers various core and elective courses.
To be known as a premier department in mechanical engineering by synergizing teaching, learning and research to produce competent Mechanical Engineers with an exposure to interdisciplinary engineering knowledge.

I on behalf of all my colleagues, students and support staff welcomes you to the Mechanical Engineering Department. We started our journey in the year of 1998. Over the 25 years of our journey, we have grown our expertise and competence in the core Mechanical Engineering curriculum and research.
We have a strong B.Tech program in Mechanical Engineering and Automobile Engineering. At the postgraduate level, we offer M.Tech and Doctoral programmes. Several sponsored candidates from industries and research laboratories carry out their graduate studies in our department.
The primary focus of our pedagogy is to impart technical know-how to students, promote their problem solving and innovation skills and make them abreast with new technologies. The department offers a wide spectrum of optional courses to the students to pursue their interest. The course contents are periodically updated to keep them inline with the global developments. Undergraduate students are encouraged for hands-on-training, in the form of course projects and participate in various sponsored research projects. The department is known for maintaining active research groups to carry out interdisciplinary research. We have state of the art research facilities to support our academic programs and research.
