Dr. Dharmendra Singh

Assistant Professor

Department of Civil Engineering

Dr. Dharmendra Singh is currently working as an Assistant Professor in the Department of Civil Engineering, Lingaya’s Vidyapeeth (Deemed-to-be University), Faridabad, Haryana, India. He completed his B.Tech in Civil Engineering from Uttar Pradesh Technical University, Lucknow in 2014, and earned his M.Tech (2017) and Ph.D. (March 2024) in Geotechnical Engineering from Motilal Nehru National Institute of Technology Allahabad, Prayagraj. He has over 4 years of teaching experience and more than 5 years of research experience during his Ph.D. tenure. Dr. Singh has published 23 research papers in reputed national and international journals and conferences. He has also published 6 patents and 7 abstracts. He has actively participated in 17 Faculty Development Programme (FDP), 14 Short-Term Courses/Workshops/Seminars, and has attended 2 conferences. He also serves as a technical reviewer for several reputed journals, including the Journal of Innovation in Civil Engineering and National Academy Science Letters. His primary research interest lies in Geotechnical Engineering, with his Ph.D. work focused on “Interaction Behaviour of Expansive Soil Using Cementitious Materials, Glass Fiber and Non-Woven Geotextile with Microstructural Analysis.” His research centers on the interaction behavior of expansive soils when stabilized using cementitious materials, glass fiber and non-woven geotextile. Expansive soils pose significant challenges to infrastructure due to their volumetric changes under varying moisture conditions. Dr. Singh’s work aims to mitigate these challenges by investigating how these additives influence the mechanical and microstructural properties of soil. His study involves advanced laboratory testing and microstructural analysis techniques, including FESEM, XRF, XRD, EDS and FTIR to evaluate soil behavior at the particle level. The outcomes of his research contribute to the development of sustainable, durable and cost-effective ground improvement methods. His findings are highly relevant for infrastructure projects involving foundations, pavements and embankments in regions with problematic soils. Dr. Singh’s work reflects a strong commitment to innovation and sustainability in geotechnical engineering practices.
