Home » NEET 2026 Cancelled: Complete Guide for Students
Are you a NEET aspirant feeling shocked or worried after hearing that NEET 2026 has been cancelled? You are not alone! Lakhs of students across India gave the exam on 3 May 2026, but now the National Testing Agency (NTA) has taken a big decision.
In this easy-to-read blog, we explain everything in simple words – why it happened, what happens next, and how you can stay strong and prepare better, so let’s get started!
The NEET UG 2026 exam took place on 3 May 2026 as planned. It was an offline pen-and-paper test. Many students appeared and hoped for good results. However, soon after the exam, serious allegations came up about a “guess paper” leak. Reports said a paper that matched many questions (especially in Chemistry and Biology) was shared in some coaching areas like Sikar in Rajasthan days or even weeks before the exam.
Rajasthan Police’s Special Operations Group started checking the matter. They found that some guess papers were sold at high prices. This raised big questions about the fairness of the exam. After looking at inputs from central agencies, the NTA, with approval from the Government of India, decided to cancel the exam held on 3 May. A re-exam will be conducted on new dates that will be announced soon.
This step aims to protect the trust and fairness that students and parents expect from such an important exam.
The decision affects lakhs of students, but it also gives a chance for a clean re-exam.
Students should keep checking the official website neet.nta.nic.in regularly for authentic news. Avoid believing unverified messages on social media or WhatsApp.
The pattern is expected to remain the same:
NTA will likely use better technology, more CCTV, and stricter checks at centres to prevent any leaks. Many experts believe the re-exam will be even more secure.
Fake news spreads fast during such times. Always double-check before believing or sharing anything.
This cancellation is disappointing, but it is not the end of your dream. Many students in the past faced delays due to COVID or other issues and still became successful doctors. Your hard work has not gone waste – it has prepared you well for the re-exam.
Stay focused, believe in yourself, and keep working honestly. A fair result will reward your efforts. The medical seats and your future are still waiting for you.
This situation also highlights the need for long-term improvements in the examination system so that every student gets a transparent and smooth process.
We will keep updating this blog as soon as new dates or official notices come out. Bookmark this page and visit again for fresh information.
You have prepared for months. A few extra weeks will not stop a determined student like you. Keep going – your dream of becoming a doctor is still very much alive!
