The Department of Electrical Engineering was established in the year 1998 under the School of Engineering & Technology to meet the growing requirements of professional electrical engineers in the country and abroad. The department strives to provide quality education with a strong focus on developing technical knowledge, practical skills, and the overall personality of students.

The main objective of the department is to create, train, and develop competent and industry-ready technical professionals with strong analytical ability and sound engineering knowledge, who can effectively perform their professional responsibilities while upholding moral and ethical values.

The department actively promotes participation of faculty and students in research and innovation activities through various Centers of Excellence. Faculty members have contributed to numerous research publications in reputed refereed and peer-reviewed journals and are actively engaged in research and development activities in areas such as Power Systems Optimization, Renewable Energy Integration, Smart Grid, Electric Vehicles, Industrial Automation, and Energy Management Systems.
