The wait is finally over for lakhs of teaching aspirants! The CTET Result 2026 for the February session has been officially released by the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE). You can now check your scores and download the scorecard at the official website ctet.nic.in.
This result brings good news for thousands who appeared in the Central Teacher Eligibility Test (CTET) held in early February 2026. Whether you took Paper 1 (for classes 1 to 5) or Paper 2 (for classes 6 to 8), your qualifying status is now available online. In this easy-to-read guide, you will find everything you need to know – from simple steps to check the result to important statistics, qualifying marks, and what to do next.
CTET is a national-level exam conducted by CBSE twice a year. It tests whether candidates are ready to become teachers in central government schools such as Kendriya Vidyalayas (KVs), Navodaya Vidyalayas (NVs), and many CBSE-affiliated schools.
Clearing CTET is the first and most important step for anyone who wants a teaching job in these schools. Without a CTET certificate, you cannot apply for most central teaching posts. The good news is that once you qualify, your certificate stays valid for your entire career. No need to repeat the exam every few years!
The CTET February 2026 exam took place on 7th and 8th February 2026 across many cities in India. A small re-exam was also held on 1st March 2026 for certain candidates. More than 26 lakh students had registered, and around 23 lakh actually appeared for the test.
The exam was computer-based with no negative marking. Each paper had 150 multiple-choice questions. Paper 1 was for primary teachers, while Paper 2 was for upper primary teachers. Many students chose both papers to increase their chances.
CBSE released the CTET Result 2026 on 30th March 2026. The result was uploaded on the official site ctet.nic.in in the evening.
Here are the latest official statistics:
Paper-wise breakup (official figures):
These numbers show that Paper 1 had a higher success rate than Paper 2. Overall, nearly one in every four candidates cleared the test. This is similar to previous years where pass rates usually stay between 20% and 30%.
Checking your result is simple and takes less than two minutes. Follow these easy steps:
Tip: Keep your roll number and date of birth handy. If you forget your roll number, check the admit card you received before the exam.
Your scorecard shows marks in each section, total score, and whether you have qualified. It also mentions the paper(s) you appeared for.
CBSE follows fixed qualifying marks for CTET. These marks have not changed for many years.
Only candidates who score these minimum marks are declared “Qualified”. There is no separate cut-off list like in other exams. The result directly shows your qualifying status.
Once you qualify, CBSE issues a digital certificate. This certificate is now valid for lifetime. Earlier it was valid only for seven years, but the rule changed in 2021.
You can download your marksheet and certificate from DigiLocker a few days after the result. The certificate is accepted across India for teaching jobs in central schools and many state schools too.
Qualified candidates can now apply for teacher vacancies in KVs, NVs, and other government schools without any worry.
The CTET Result 2026 has opened new doors for thousands of future teachers across India. Whether you cleared it or not, this is an important milestone in your teaching journey.
