Innovation met excitement at Lingaya’s Vidyapeeth, Faridabad on September 11, 2025. The Internal Hackathon 2025 brought together enthusiastic students for a day filled with coding, UI/UX design, and real-world problem-solving. The primary goal? To prepare teams for the prestigious Smart India Hackathon (SIH) 2025.
If you passionate about building apps, brainstorming startup ideas, or tackling real-world challenges with technology, this was the place to be. The event was not just about competition—it was about learning, collaboration, and unlocking creativity.
Let’s dive into what made this hackathon so memorable and why every student should join the next one.
The event was hosted by Lingaya’s Vidyapeeth (Deemed-to-be University) in Faridabad. The central theme was “Smart India”, focusing on innovative tech solutions for everyday problems.
Students from diverse academic backgrounds came together and formed multidisciplinary teams. The atmosphere inside the Computer Block buzzed with energy. With high-speed Wi-Fi, modern workspaces, and constant support from faculty mentors, participants had everything they needed to bring their ideas to life.
Hackathons bridge the gap between theory and practice, turning classroom knowledge into practical problem-solving experiences.
The hackathon kicked off on time with problem statements aligned with SIH 2025 themes such as healthcare technology, renewable energy, and smart city development. Teams had a set time window to ideate, code, and build prototypes.
Research suggests that hackathons boost problem-solving skills by up to 70%—and seeing students brainstorm and present, that fact came alive.
The most exciting moment was the selection round for SIH 2025. Out of all teams, 50 were shortlisted to represent Lingaya’s at the national-level hackathon.
Judges evaluated projects based on three key criteria:
Only teams with working prototypes and impactful ideas made it through. For students, this was more than a competition—it was a gateway to national recognition and career opportunities.
The Smart India Hackathon (organized by the Government of India) attracts over 10,000 teams annually, with winners earning cash prizes up to ₹1 lakh and mentorship opportunities with top companies. Last year, 30% of Lingaya’s teams reached the SIH finals. Expectations for 2025 are even higher.
Hackathons are not only about coding—they help students grow personally and professionally.
The event also featured fun breaks with snacks, music, and games. Winners received gadgets and vouchers, while every participant earned a certificate of participation—boosting both confidence and resumes.
