Mr. Raju Chutani

Mr. Raju Chutani, a Graduate Civil Engineer from Gujarat University, Ahmedabad (1988), is a distinguished engineering professional with over 37 years of post-qualification experience in Project Management, Design, and Engineering of large-scale infrastructure projects.

He served Engineers India Limited (EIL) a premier Navratna Public Sector Undertaking for more than 32 years, where he superannuated as Senior General Manager. During his tenure at EIL, Mr. Chutani was instrumental in the planning, design, and execution of complex greenfield and brownfield projects in the hydrocarbon sector as well as copper and non-ferrous metallurgical industries. His areas of expertise include infrastructure development, detailed engineering, fire protection and life safety systems, and project execution, with a strong emphasis on statutory compliance, safety, and operational excellence. He also served as HSE (Health, Safety & Environment) In-Charge for his vertical, ensuring adherence to national and international safety standards.

Post superannuation, Mr. Chutani served as Chief Consulting Engineer with NESTS (National Education Society for Tribal Students), an autonomous organization under the Ministry of Tribal Affairs, Government of India. In this role, he functioned as Technical Head for the development of Eklavya Residential Model Schools (EMRS), providing leadership in institutional infrastructure planning, engineering design, and implementation oversight.

As a Professor of Practice, Mr. Chutani brings strong industry–academia integration, leveraging his extensive experience in major international projects, multidisciplinary coordination, and leadership of large technical teams. His academic and professional engagement focuses on applied engineering education, project management, infrastructure systems, fire and life safety engineering, and HSE management, contributing to capacity building, mentoring, and professional development of students and working professionals.
